SIP Trunk

Connect your existing PBX or cloud phone system to Jet's Australian carrier network over the internet — and keep your numbers, your hardware, and your way of working.

What Is SIP Trunking?

A SIP trunk replaces the physical phone lines that used to connect your office to the telephone network. Instead of copper or ISDN circuits, voice calls travel as data over your internet connection, using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to set up and manage each call.

Jet SIP trunking links your on-premise or cloud-based PBX directly to our own Australian carrier network. You keep the phone system you already own and run, while we deliver the dial tone, the numbers, and the call routing behind it.

Why Move to a Jet SIP Trunk

With ISDN now being switched off across Australia, SIP trunking is the standard way to carry business voice. Moving to Jet gives you a clear set of advantages over legacy lines:

  • Lower line rental and call costs compared with ISDN circuits
  • Add or remove call channels as your business grows or seasonal demand changes
  • Keep your existing PBX investment — no need to rip and replace hardware
  • Carry inbound and outbound calls over a single internet connection
  • One Australian provider for numbers, voice, and support, billed in AUD

Built on Jet's Australian Network

Jet Interactive has owned and operated its own telco network since 2006. Your SIP trunk runs on that network, with voice carried and supported here in Australia rather than handed off to an overseas reseller.

Because we control the network end to end, we can keep call quality high, troubleshoot quickly, and give you a single point of contact when you need help — not a chain of third parties.

Scale Channels to Match Demand

SIP trunks are sold in channels, where each channel is one concurrent call. Rather than ordering circuits in fixed blocks like the old ISDN model, you provision the number of channels your team actually uses.

  • Right-size your channel count so you are not paying for capacity you never use
  • Scale up quickly ahead of a campaign, sale period, or new office opening
  • Suit contact centres, multi-site businesses, and growing teams alike
  • Pair with Jet inbound numbers and call routing for a complete voice setup

Reliability, Failover & Number Porting

Voice is business-critical, so a Jet SIP trunk is built to keep calls flowing even when something goes wrong. Configurable failover means inbound calls can divert to a backup destination — another site, a mobile, or voicemail — if your primary connection drops.

Switching to Jet does not mean changing your numbers. We handle porting of your existing landline and inbound numbers across to our network, so customers keep dialling the numbers they already know.

  • Automatic failover routing to keep inbound calls answered during an outage
  • Number porting for your existing geographic and inbound numbers
  • Add new local, national, or 1300/1800 numbers when you need them
  • Australian-based support to help plan and run the cut-over
